Nazareth Ganja Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
Directions:
- Butter should be soft but not melted; 1 to 2 hours at room temperature should work.
- Using a pastry cutter or a fork, cream the butter and sugar until the mixture reaches a uniform consistency and the butter is the size of small pebbles. Add eggs and continue mixing; this will help mix in any remaining butter.
- Combine dry ingredients and add to the butter, egg, and sugar mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are combined into consistent dough.
- Cool dough in refrigerator for 1 hour; dough should be firm and cool.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- On a floured surface, roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. (Flour the rolling pin too!). Cut into shapes using cookie or biscuit cutters. Continue reshaping the dough left from each cutting until all the dough is used up.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet; sprinkle with colored sugar if desired. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until cookie edges are firm and bottom is lightly brown.
